LifeSpring Mission
The mission of LifeSpring Hospitals is to provide quality and affordable healthcare to women and children from lower income households across India so as to enhance their overall wellbeing.
Quality Healthcare
Quality is our highest priority and reflects our organisation wide emphasis on service excellence.
Our Quality Policy states :
LifeSpring Hospitals exists to provide women and children with high-quality health care at an affordable price. We commit to meeting our customers’ needs and exceeding their expectations by making continuous improvements in all we do.
Affordable Care
We believe in providing affordable care. Households with lower incomes have less disposable income and percentage of income they spend on health is a critical determinant of their overall wellbeing. Our customers should be expected to pay not only a lower amount for a given service, but also spend a lower proportion of their income on availing health care service. Therefore for us, the aim is to provide services at the lowest possible costs by optimizing our resource utilization levels and performing at a scale that permits lowest possible pricing. This is expected to reduce the percentage of income that a household commits to health care; thus freeing a larger percentage to address other necessities. Read More
Women & Children
We are commited to working with women and children, the most vunerable sections of society.
More than a lakh (100000) women die in India every year from pregnancy related causes and an equal number suffer moderate to severe morbidities.
The high level of maternal mortality is distressing because the majority of these deaths can be averted (with proper maternal care or effective referral). In terms of its impact, poor health has repercussions not only for the woman but also for her entire family.
Women with poor health status are more likely to give birth to low birth weight infants, less likely to be able to feed and care adequately for their children and are less capable of pursuing gainful social, economic or community related activities.
Understanding the centrality of a woman's health to her household's well being and also supporting the household to care for their children is the essence of this component of the mission statement.
Lower Income Households
The effect of poverty on healthcare and vice versa is significant.
Studies have shown that the poor in India are disproportionately affected by diseases and have limited access to adequate medical services.
High illiteracy rates, limited access to safe water, and poor sanitation all contribute to the poor state of health in which many of the poor live.
One episode of illness is at times capable of impacting the economic status of a low income household to such an extent that all assets are eroded, gainful employment of one or more members is lost and the family falls into a perpetual debt cycle which initiates a downward spiral with respect to its wellbeing.
At one extreme, expansion and betterment of health care services in India have seen the emergence of a competitive private sector that is capable of providing very effective and high end medical services and at the other end is the public health care system that has the mandate to provide free basic health services but is plagued with issues of resource availability and effective deployment.
This gap is what we target and our hospitals therefore will work with the lower income households of the society where the expenses incurred on health have a life changing effect. This, we believe, is our most important differentiator.
Our Value System
Guiding our every day behavior are the following key principles:
Respect for all individuals working in the organization irrespective of rank, position, job profile, education, etc. The respect has to be shown when we talk to them personally or when we send mails to them.
Customers are the only reason why are in business and we would make all effort to exceed the expectations of customer who visit our hospitals. We would under no circumstances and under whatever provocation disrespect the customer.
All employees have freedom to express opinion in any internal forum without any fear. Organization would encourage employees to discuss openly issues which would help in building the organization.
Maintaining the highest standard of behavior. Integrity encompasses honesty, ethics and doing the right thing for the right reason.
We encourage ownership behavior. Blaming other for service failure is no longer an option when you take ownership for the organization.
